The Greek and Persian myths often referred to the pomegranate as a symbol of life, regeneration and marriage. The ancient Chinese believed that the fruit arils symbolized longevity and immortality. The health benefits of the fruit are also many – eating it helps improve the immune system, works miracles on cardiopathic patients, while contributing to the slowing of the aging process.
