The coins are round in shape with a raised rim on the obverse and the reverse. Surface of the coins is oxidized.
The obverse: within the circular geometric ornament – the relief of the State Coat of Arms of the Republic of Belarus; in the center – a solar sign consisting of octagonal geometrical figure with elements of rhombic decor, symbolizing solar rays; beneath – year of issue, inscriptions along the rim – at the top "РЭСПУБЛIКА БЕЛАРУСЬ" (REPUBLIC OF BELARUS), at the bottom "АД3IН РУБЕЛЬ" (ONE ROUBLE).
The reverse: in the center – the interior of a village hut in which the table was set to pray for the dead; at the top – two angels that are holding a candle over the entrance to the hut (on the silver coin – the inset from synthetic orange crystal imitating fire); on the left, right, and at the top – relief elements of the Belarusian national ornament with the motives of the Soul; and at the bottom – a circumferential inscription: ДЗЯДЫ (DZYADY).
